Playful Boots

December 3, 2011  |  Family, Fashion

A random story from my week that really has no great value but maybe you will relate to :)

I woke up one morning this week to snow on the ground and thought, “Yeah, I can wear my teal socks and wellies!” I proceeded to get dressed and put on the socks I was so excited to wear. (Boots with high socks ranks in my top five favorite winter styles.) I then moved along to scavenging through the kids drawers for something for they could wear and… socks, immediately realizing I needed to do laundry. I failed at finding socks, at which point I regretted being to lazy to fold socks all summer. Instead of folding them they all went into a basket in Tony’s closet. I was also thankful I knew exactly where I could find them. So I sauntered down the stairs and muttered under my breath to Tony, who was in the office, “I hate socks.” He laughed and then looked at my feet which were gracing my oh so subtle socks.

A random story yes, but one to let you know, I’m not a mother who has everything done when it should be. Who keeps her house clean, makes amazing dinners, or folds all the socks. In fact, if someone rated how good of a mom I am by how clean my house is, how yummy the food I serve is, and how organized I am; I would surely be on the bottom of the scale. But if it was about playing with my kids, reading to them, answering questions over and over again, laughing together, and and telling them I love them all day long; the score might just improve :)

The winner of the November Giveaway is Terra. I will e-mail you soon friend.

  1. I am pretty sure the “yummy meals” you think you should be making to get a higher score wouldn’t get eaten by little people anyway!!!!! Ha ha ha!

Loved the boots, but loved the Legos in the background even more.

    Love to you friend,

  2. You’ve always had your priorities right Anns :) Those little ones will be benefit from the laughing and playing better than having the right socks on. This is said from a girl who frequently wears mismatched socks because I can’t be bothered to fight the right ones so….maybe I’m not a reliable sock source.

  3. I love the way you “Mother”! Your story takes me back many years. :-)
